The Subaru Outback is a cross between a midsize SUV and a hatchback, with a distinctively sedan-like driving experience and a refined, spacious, and ultimately comfortable interior. It has a solid engine lineup for plenty of power, and with all-wheel drive, an attitude that it can get you anywhere, any time. There's little wonder it's so popular on the roads of Sidney, Oneonta, and Norwich.

The Outback also has a great suite of tech. Check out this breakdown and review of the Subaru Outback technology features, brought to you by Bill Rapp Subaru of Norwich.

Subaru Outback Technology Features Overview

When people think about technology in cars, they first turn to the stereo system. In the Outback, the sound is top-notch, especially when you go for the upgraded premium sound system. The optional vertical 11.6-inch touchscreen interface offers a unique approach and offers a solid interface that's intuitive and well-designed. It also features intelligent voice commands that work quite well.

When it comes to safety technology, the EyeSight® package is among the most refined and capable on the market today. Whether you're using adaptive cruise control or blind-spot monitoring, it will kick in to make sure you're always safe. The Outback comes in several different trim levels, with the technology features increasing across the first five.

Base Technology Package

At the base trim level, the Subaru Outback gives you features like a 7-inch touchscreen interface to drive the infotainment system, which also comes with full Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone integration. You also get automatic climate control to maintain your cabin temperature just the way you like it.

Premium Technology

At the Premium level, you get a power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control for different environmental conditions by zone, and an all-weather package that gives you heated seats, heated power mirrors, and windshield wiper de-icers.

This is the level where you also get the 11.6-inch touchscreen. Optionally at this level, you can get a hands-free liftgate, keyless entry and ignition, and GPS navigation.

Subaru Outback Limited Trim Level Technology

At the Limited level, you get all the above and add driver memory settings as well as the upgraded Harman Kardon® sound system. In addition, you get a power passenger seat, auto-dim mirrors, and heated back seats, all to add to the levels of comfort and convenience. Optionally at this level, you can add a heated steering wheel and advanced GPS navigation to the package to kick things up just one more notch.

At subsequent trim levels, you get comfort and convenience technology upgrades like the additional drive modes available with the Onyx Edition XT and upgraded all-wheel-drive technology for even more authority on the roads. You also get a turbocharged engine, which puts out 260 horsepower.
